Luke Rudowski and James Lane of We Are Change attempt to question former vice president Dick Cheney at the CPAC conference about his complicity in the terrorist attacks of September 11th, 2001.
As Dick Cheney makes his way to an elevator, swarmed by reporters and security personnel, Luke and James ask Cheney about the infamous stand down order Cheney allegedly gave not to scramble NORAD interceptor jets to stop or shoot down the hijacked airplanes.
“We know what you did with the stand down order. Norman Minetta testified against you in the 9/11 Commission Report. Mr. Cheney we know what happened on 9/11. You’re a terrorist.”
Cheney acknowledges the remark briefly with a smirk and quickly makes his way to the elevator as Luke is pushed to the back of the room by a Secret Service Agent.
Norman Mineta was the US Secretary of Transportation during 9/11. In a CSPAN video, Mineta was questioned by to 9/11 Commissioner Lee Hamilton. He talked about a conversation he overheard between a young man and the vice president as the plane was coming towards the Pentagon.
Mineta:
“During the time that the airplane was coming into the Pentagon, there was a young man who would come in and say to the Vice President…the plane is 50 miles out…the plane is 30 miles out….and when it got down to the plane is 10 miles out, the young man also said to the vice president “do the orders still stand?” And the Vice President turned and whipped his neck around and said “Of course the orders still stand, have you heard anything to the contrary!??”
